Since Day One, our company has been locally owned, and family operated. There’s always a sense of pride in our pilots knowing that we get to operate in the place of our birth and upbringing.

However, this upbringing - while we count ourselves luckier than most - exposed us firsthand to the oftentimes brutal and one-of-a-kind challenges that farmers in our region faced on a daily basis. 

Our region - whilst beautiful - is marred by hard-to-reach locations, outback conditions and dangerous wildlife. But North QLDers are hardy people and we define ourselves by our challenges, how we hold ourselves in the face of adversity and the strong networks we’ve built together to overcome those challenges.

Because of this our founder knew we could help friends, family, locals and community members alike overcome their own challenges by starting Blue Hills Helicopters. 

Through aviation, we knew we could provide professional pilots who understood those challenges. We knew Blue Hills Helicopters could contribute to a safer community and even before we’d signed the documents, it was a done deal in our minds.

Connecting Our Local Region

We wanted to not only provide a professional aviation service, but also contribute to forming strong connections in our local regions. After all, we know firsthand that North QLD is built off the back of mateship and supporting our neighbours. 

It’s just one reason why we were adamant that our company by founded by our family and hire local pilots. Of course, we couldn't just keep serving our friends. After more than five years, we’re proud to say our clients now extend to our entire community in North QLD. 

Keeping Our Community Safe

As such, aviation is more than a job to us. It’s a partnership where our clients are trusting us to keep them safe in the air, and over the last five years we've done everything we can to honour that trust. We wouldn’t have it any other way simply because we know not everyone is as fortunate as we are to be able to build and operate on this uniquely QLD trust every day. 

To say providing safe, reliable aircraft and experienced pilots to our community gives us meaning and a step closer to our own local roots would be an understatement - but the truth nonetheless.
